Hi, I’m Rob Moore, one of the founders of Epic Draws.
I grew up in Manchester, and I love music. I’m also a big fan of golf, running, and cycling. For years, I’ve been taking part in running and cycling events to raise money for charities that are close to my heart. I’ve done the Great Manchester Run (both the Half Marathon and 10K) and the Manchester 100-mile bike ride every year to support The Christie, a cancer treatment and research centre, in memory of my mother-in-law, Margaret. Helping these charities raise the money they need to make a difference means a lot to me.
We completed a test draw back in March 2022 with retired football star and now TV pundit Michael Owen, and we were excited to get started. But just after that, I had a heart attack, which really stopped me from moving forward with everything. It’s been a tough road, but I’m now recovered and ready to get back to work. We’re finally relaunching, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve from here.
During lockdown, I realised that so many charities needed a lot of extra help to fundraise, with all their usual fundraising events being cancelled.
I also saw many well-loved celebrities come up with ingenious ways to engage with their fans, and I thought: why not offer money-can’t buy celebrity experiences to raise money for important causes? And Epic Draws was born.
